In brief:

Down a random looking lane near a golf course you will find the most beautiful home and private lake. This is where family offered to host Daisy & Jack’s special weekend of frivolities! A mixture of Lancashire and Cumbrian suppliers were involved to transform a very tight space into a party venue. Access was limited to a single track and many measurements were taken to get the tents and kit to fit!

“A few of my meetings were with Daisy’s parent only to assess the location before confirming anything. It’s lovely when parents and family can provide such help and pretty spaces!”

The couple married in Lancaster in the epic Williamson Memorial Park in one the most beautiful buildings we’ve seen!! Then a shuttle run of mini buses got guests to site, fi they didnt fancy the pretty walk. The end of the lane revealed itself with decking, tents, music, bar, food… perfect. The weather was a bit damp to start with but turned to hot heat for the afternoon. With a host of good suppliers and plenty of good cheer, it was a hell of a party!

“At each chat and throughout the day this couple were witty and fun. We got down to details but with a giggle or seven thrown in! They did a great job, with the help of parents, to make a great event in a personal and memorable location. Nice to work with some new and lovely faces for this too!”

A few words from the couple…

Why did you look for a coordinator?

Two main reasons were to get help with the difficulty of the site in terms of marquee, space, transport, timing, and all the electrics etc needed for a marquee wedding when we have no knowledge of running a marquee! Additionally, we and our families wanted to enjoy the day and not have to worry about the wedding running to time, everything going smoothly or any issues that may arise!

Why did you end up choosing Annabel?

Very friendly & personable, had great knowledge of marquees (!) and also reasonably priced in comparison to others we looked into!

How did Annabel help in the lead up to the wedding?

Annabel really helped us know what we need to prioritise and when. She also gave loads of great advice and tips when we struggling to decide on things eg. Food choices, decor ideas etc.

What was the hardest part of planning for you?

Transport & timings, Guestlist & numbers

What was the best part of your celebration?

All of it! Seeing the site & marquee on the day looking so amazing really made it - its hard to visualise but it all came together!

What would you change with hindsight?

The marquee supplier!

How did Annabel help on the wedding day?

She ensured everything ran to schedule, helped with ushering people about & that everything was organised & ready.

Would you recommend Annabel?

Yes!

What tips would you give another couple doing a DIY wedding?

It’s a lot of work if you don’t really know what your doing - ensure you have lots of friends/family who can help muck in with the planning, decisions and run up, and a wedding planner to help you determine what you need to stress about about what you don’t at all the different stages.

For some guidance on your DIY wedding planning, even just one meeting to get you on track, drop us a line. Help isnt weakness, its strength of character. Learn from others not your own mishaps!

Happy planning!!
