In Brief:

From the moment I met these two we were having a laugh. Its a wonder we ever got anything done! Its a pleasure to help a couple when you know their style and personalities suit your own. I loved their focus on the important things and passion on the quality where it mattered. The day was emotional and joyful. Even when a table bit me and I had to wander around like a cartoon weirdo (giant bandage held aloft to stop the throbbing. Gross), we had a hoot. I felt like part of the clan and didnt want to leave. The team behind this event were also fun and flexible, just the way I like them. We had each others backs and made the event enjoyable. Thanks everyone!!!

The happy couple shared some kind words on their experience:

Why did you look for a planner?

We both have full on jobs and wanted someone overseeing the wedding planning process to make sure nothing slipped through the net. Given that we live in London, we needed someone who had knowledge of local suppliers. It was also important to us to have someone who could take control on the big day so we didn’t have to worry about anything.

Why did you decide on Annabel?

From her response to our initial enquiry, Annabel’s efficiency was plain to see. When we had our first Zoom call it felt like we were chatting to an old friend. It was a no brainer for us.

What was your biggest worry in the lead up?

The impact of COVID but we just had to keep telling ourselves we couldn’t control it so just had to roll with it.

What was the most difficult part of planning?

Not being able to meet the suppliers face to face and being so far away from the venue.

How did having Annabel on the team help?

Annabel was a great sounding board in the early stages. She was quick to respond to my panicked emails about whether I’d done the right thing. Annabel knew a lot of our suppliers, in fact she recommended them, which meant she knew exactly how it would all work. She was also able to get responses quickly on our queries.

What do you remember most about the wedding day?

The ceremony was really special and the whole day was filled with laughter. The atmosphere was relaxed and from our perspective, the day ran like clockwork.

How did having Annabel there help?

Annabel provided a calming influence and was all over every detail which meant we didn’t have to be. I’m sure there was so much more going on behind the scenes that we were oblivious to!

Would you change anything about your day?

Honestly, not one bit.

What advice would you give to others planning a DIY style event?

Ask yourself what you remember about weddings you have been to. Of those bits, which matter most to you. It’s your wedding and therefore it should be unique to you. Don’t feel obliged to have things just because other people do. Take time to research your suppliers and ask the likes of Annabel for their recommendations.

If things don’t go to plan, remember that you’re marrying your favourite person for life and it’s so much more than that one day.

Would you recommend Annabel?

100%.

We can’t thank you enough for your input and influence on making everything go so smoothly. It was literally the BEST few days and we wouldn’t change a thing.  We’re still trying to take it all in as so much of it feels like a blur!
