In the words of their coordinator, Annabel…

This was my first wedding at a venue who also wanted to start promoting weddings. I was so excited to see the place tested!

Chris is a descendant of William Wordsworth so marrying in the family home was a dream. Oli is a creative with an eye for detail and atmosphere. This is why this wedding was such a success! We worked through their ideas and the logistics of the site. They pushed the limit of guests which concerned me at first but the tight fit didn’t effect the emotion and fun of the day.

As the gardens are in sections we managed to snuggly position a tipi in one section with a bar tent conveniently next door. The caterers took over the tearoom which has handy access to the tipi too. The bottom lawn, with epic views to the lake, hosted their ceremony. I’ll never forget the wonderful confetti that wildly and wonderfully flew around the space! We even positioned speakers down the path to help keep that perfect atmosphere for the guests. As the evening drew in, firepits were lit on the terrace creating a wonderful ambience.

Now I know that this place wants and should host more weddings. Wordsworth was a glorious host and I think that has stayed in his home.

Kind words from the couple…

Why did you look for a coordinator?

A real connection was important to us and Annabel is one of the most genuine people you could ever wish to meet.

Why did you end up choosing Annabel?

From our first meeting Annabel inspired confidence, we just knew we were in safe hands. Her experience was extensive, her little black book of contacts was exhaustive and we just really liked her.

How did Annabel help in the lead up to the wedding?

All the way up to the wedding we had regular check-ins and nothing was missed. Every detail was discussed, sorted and she offered great suggestions at every turn.

What was the hardest part of planning for you?

What was the best part of your celebration?

Our wedding day was seamless. It was just so much fun and it’s a cliché but it will be a day we will never forget.

What would you change with hindsight?

How did Annabel help on the wedding day?

We knew Annabel was the magic pair of hands making everything just work beautifully. She was always there if we needed something and everything that needed to happen did. She has a charm in pushing things to happen and everyone just felt comfortable on the day…our guests loved her.

Would you recommend Annabel?

We’d recommend Annabel without a single moment of hesitation! You’d be lucky to have her.

What tips would you give another couple doing a DIY wedding?

Plan as much as you can but a wedding day isn’t about it all being perfect, it’s about just enjoying the day with those you love.
