HELP - Styled Shoots - Why?

Loads of shoots happening at the minute, but why?

Styled photo shoots are happening everywhere at the moment! Personally I am involved with a few and my social media is filled with stunning shots from all over the world! They are great for businesses but why are they good for couples?!…

What is a ‘Styled Shoot’?

Its a creative and fun way for suppliers to either show off their skills or products or help launch something new to the market. They are usually put together by someone like me, a Planner or Stylist, or a photographer and have goal shots in mind. The style will reflect a trend, key product or venue and will involve as many points of interest as possible. A good old mood board will help everyone follow the same theme and timings are strict as its usually only over one day. Set it up, shoot and go!

Whats in it for the suppliers?

Basically its about flexing the creative muscles (very important in these weird times!), showcasing talents and networking. The end shots are then very helpful for promotion online at any time. The links you make at the event are very strong ones too as you get to know the suppliers, have a chat and find out about them and their company. Recommendations are ripe afterwards as we all like to know those we tell people about!

Why is it helpful for you?

Even though this is just a faux wedding, it really shows what the suppliers can do without a limit or restrictions. You can see the products beautifully as they have been the focus so spotlighted just to show you! The camera is targetting elements beyond just people so you can see the detail. Wondering about a supplier or product? Check out a shoot!

Also, the team behind this now have a base of other pro’s to tell you about. Sometimes at weddings we pro’s dont get chance to really investigate some of the other businesses involved. We are too busy doing our ‘thang! We see the end result but dont get to understand how that came to be or the personalities and challenges etc behind it all. Once you do, you get that business and want to tell others about it.

Now do you get it? Interesting stuff this business thing. I love to connect the dots and share the life behind the wedding industry veil! Let me know if you have any queries about how this all works.

Happy planning!

A x
