In Brief:

You know when you meet new people and wonder if you’re going to be right for them?… My first visit to Cant House was a right good laugh. These two had some awesome ideas from the off and it was a fun session sharing stories and laughs!

The emphasis was definitely on the ease for the Groom’s Mum, whose house they were invading, and plenty to eat and drink. The venue was picture perfect with so much space and pretty views. Even the church was historically charged (Bronte sisters fame) and simply gorgeous. The team was spot on with a stunning tent which glowed brilliantly at night and the service lot, food and booze, were a hoot to work with! All the guests had everything they needed, full tums and full glasses. The dancefloor was a hit and I saw some fab moves.

Its always nice to work with new faces too and suss out their style and work habits. Seeing a photographer in a corn field and DJ in a greenhouse is not normal for weddings but I went with it because it worked!

My strongest memories were having my own shed to store stuff (Love that!), someone stepping on Heather’s train and seeing such strong fury on her face, Rich handing over the reins and chilling (eventually), laughing while the couple tackled a veil and wind, giggles with Purple Sage and the Bars2U lot back stage whenever I popped by and seeing the glow when the couple took in their day as the sunset.

Thanks guys, loved being part of your special day.

Kind words from the Groom, Rich:

Why did you look for a planner?

We were looking to have a marquee wedding at a private venue and we wanted our friends and family to enjoy the occasion without having to worry about anything on the day. We were also looking for guidance around suppliers, possible challenges to expect and the best ways to navigate these.

Why did you choose Annabel?

Annabel was initially recommended to us by another wedding supplier and the first time we met both my partner and I were impressed with her professionalism, energy, experience and nature.

How easy was it to get Annabel up to speed with your plans?

Very easy. Annabel was involved in our wedding planning almost from the start and helped us direct our attention and energy in the right areas.

Did having Annabel on hand help with planning?

There was an overwhelming amount of choice in every regard and we didn’t know where to start. Having Annabel on hand kept us focused on what we wanted and the pitfalls we needed to avoid. I don’t believe we could have had the day we did without her involvement.

Do you feel having Annabel there on the day made a difference?

I had enormous piece of mind leading up to the wedding knowing Annabel would be there on the day. If she wasn’t present I would’ve worried about potential problems, family involvement and our own wedding experience. Annabel took care of all the timings, all the issues and effectively ran the wedding for us. I wanted us to focus on spending time with our family and friends and Annabel made that happen.

What advice would you give to others having a wedding at a private home?

It’s definitely worth the hard work. Weddings at a private home are extremely personal and ours was all the more special for it. We were able to customise everything according to our own tastes and preferences to create a truly unique day.

Would you recommend Annabel to others?

From concept to planning, decision making to organising and her invaluable assistance on the day, Annabel was a huge part of making our wedding the fantastic day it was. We cannot emphasise enough the difference she made and we would definitely recommend Annabel to others.
